One of my favourite things at the Côte d’Azur is going to the morning markets. Preferably the one in Ramatuelle, a small village up the hill.
Fresh fruits and vegetables, merchants yelling above the chit-chatting visitors, locals having a coffee, tourists having a full breakfast menu, the strong smell of creamy cheeses and provencal soaps, mothers and daughters hunting for a new summer dress, fathers bargaining with the olive merchant and a long queue at La Tarte Tropézienne for une baguette.
There’s a lot of buzz, but somehow it feels calm. And if the sun isn’t too warm yet I love to take the time to get lost in the small and charming streets of Ramatuelle.
